POP CULTURE

A Point of View: Pop-Culture at Work | The Inclusion Solution

Three words pop culture can be defined in simple words: grouping, common idea, and formed. The reason the word choice was so simple is the idea of what pop culture is. The TED talk that Phil Miller presented to us mentioned the basic idea of pop culture and how it's formed in today's generation. Pop Culture isn't internally dead, a common way that pop culture is brought to life in today's world is social media. Social media is a big part of today's world, we all use it. To agree on something through social media we often like pictures, comments, or even repost. We often form a group and by doing this, we form an alliance, our alliance forms a common idea which results in pop culture.

What we see in the media is portrayed as pop culture. The memes we see. Storm Trooper and Zombie Storm Trooper are some images described as pop culture. For something to become pop culture for example it would have to get onto YouTube, go viral, and become a meme. Pop culture is paired. politics, religion, social issues, cultural values, and beliefs. We then have on the other side the things that catch the attention of the internet. A lot of that turns out to be pop culture. For example, as Alexandre O. Philippe at TEDxMileHigh states "Star Wars" isn't just a movie a lot of people can argue this opinion, it changed the way we watch movies, it even changed the movie industry, changed technology, changed the toy industry. We have been exposed to many Star Wars references. You can make the argument.

Let's look at things differently. Politics divide us... religion may divide us. Social issues divide us, and cultural beliefs, and values separate us. Something making us smile brings us together and forms a community. Popular figures are role models in pop culture. Let's take this simply: what is pop culture? Pop culture is a universal language that manages in all of its seemingly trivial, to make us positive and dream, to connect us across. It's part of our flesh as humans, It says something about us. An important factor that made this civilization a milestone is that we are the first in human history to have made fun of an important factor.

Taking it back to the two articles, the assignments, and the discussion. We have learned that pop culture sure indeed plays a big role in society. popular culture strengthened our minds, This was possible by us growing and expanding especially with popular culture making our minds stronger by us growing and learning from culture. Popular culture is a type of culture keeping up with the trends, this is very important to most since It keeps up with society. When you tend to be caught up with what's going on this can improve many things like learning. Keeping up with popular culture surely connects with this topic of the articles. Popular culture is key when trying to gain modern knowledge. All across the media, internet, and social media. Pop culture is around us all.
