Mentors

       

        The other Wes Moore had mentors along his way teaching him what led him to his position today. So much wrong has come in the author's life but they knew what to do and with a mentor on his side he got out of there quickly. Having a mentor by your side is a privilege, many don’t have access to one. The author had a mentor there for him if he lost motivation or hope. A mentor is someone who led me in the past and guided me through failure. I have had mentors, my biggest mentor is my Dad. My father was there for me when I was at my lowest. I would suffer with anxiety and my dad pulled me out of my dark place, He helped me get back onto my feet. I would quickly learn what life’s obstacles were and my father helped me whenever I needed a helping hand. I wasn’t being myself for a while until I learned that “life can be filled with joy and laughter”, My father showed me that life isn’t always supposed to be taken seriously, having fun and living it to its fullest. Make sure you have fun every once in a while. Showing self-care when you need it most helps defeat those stresses. My dad has taught me so much that I have learned from him. A mentor is a privilege to have, not everyone has people there for them. 

  

     

        My side hustle is sneaker reselling and I have experienced many losses. I got robbed and got items that weren’t authentic leaving me to lose hundreds of my hard-earned money. I was mad and upset, I felt like it wasn’t even worth it anymore. Until my friends who would do the same hustle as me talked to me and explained everything. I told them that it feels annoying to lose hundreds in a month. They mentioned to me that’s part of the learning process. I have to go through trials and errors before reaching the top. I had a friend who gave me details, sat down and talked with me for hours about how things would be and what I could do. I wanted to make sure that I wouldn’t mess up again. I have received so much advice and made sure I was gonna be one of the best to ever do it. I had to put in hard work and time into this to achieve my goal. I was ready to start from square one and make the best out of myself. Without the people who were recognized as my mentors, I wouldn’t be as strong as I am now. I wanted to reach new possibilities and go big or go home. Slow motion is better than no motion, which means slowly making money is better than not making any. This is an important business model for me since if I take it slowly, fewer mistakes will happen. I still have a long way to go to be that top 1%, I gotta do something that 99% isn’t doing. There is always room for improvement and it’s endless.
